Body Gard with Lactoferrin

Body Gard with Lactoferrin is a unique formulation of Colostrum, Echinacea and Lactoferrin. Lactoferrin is a naturally occurring, iron-binding protein. It is the second most abundant protein in human colostrum, the first milk secreted at the end of pregnancy. Small amounts of lactoferrin are also found in saliva and tears. Research has shown that lactoferrin favorably influences the development of healthy and functional immune systems in infants as well the composition of intestinal flora.

During pregnancy, the systemic concentration is down regulated, presumably to prevent the maternal immune system from rejecting the fetus. The levels are then elevated in the mother at term to restore normal immune responses.

Lactoferrin is a naturally occurring protein derived from colostrum. Lactoferrin is involved in iron metabolism, an important mechanism used by animals and plants to moderate growth and control infections. Lactoferrin has been shown to be effective at supporting lymphocytes, the white blood cells directly involved in the destruction of bacteria, viruses and other infectious agents.

Body Gard is also fortified with pure colostrum, containing a broad spectrum of immune factors presumed to provide natural protection against illness.
